There are several capable leaders for PM's post: Yechury

Indore (PTI): Evading a categorical reply on whether BSP chief Mayawati would be the prime ministerial candidate for the "third alternative", CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechuri said there are several "capable" leaders for the post.
"It would depend on the outcome of the polls. For me, projecting some body as prime ministerial candidate before elections is wrong," Yechury said, adding that, "we have many capable leaders for the post".
Yechuri, who was here to attend a function, dismissed questions that the Left Parties, in the wake of speculation of UPA government's fall, presented Mayawati as prime ministerial candidate before the no-confidence vote on July 22.
"In fact, we have only said the Left parties will have no objection with Mayawati as prime minister," Yechury said. He said all the four Left parties, BSP along with ten other parties have come together and will unitedly launch agitation across the country on various issues.
Referring to the ongoing agitation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said communal forces were flaring up the issue in the name of land allotment to Amarnath Shrine Board, which was endangering country's unity and integrity.
"There should be a debate in Parliament on the issue," he said and added that though the UPA government has won the confidence vote, it has no majority inside the House and that is why it was hesitating to call Parliament session.
